Introduction
The Madhya Pradesh Judicial Service Examination or MP PCS (J) Civil Judge Examination is conducted by the Madhya Pradesh High Court to recruit suitable candidates. They recruit for the posts of Civil Judge Grade II.

Eligibility Criteria
- The person appearing for the exam must be a citizen of India.
- It is now mandatory to have practiced continuously as an Advocate for a minimum of 3 years on the last date fixed for submitting the application, or,
- Exceptional law graduates with a brilliant academic career may still be considered.
- To qualify, you must have passed all exams in the first attempt and secured a minimum aggregate of 70% marks for General and OBC categories.
- For SC and ST categories, a minimum of 50% aggregate marks is required during the 3 to 5 years of your law degree.
- You are eligible for the MP Judiciary Exam 2023 only if you satisfy the age limit criteria prescribed by the exam conducting body. Otherwise, your candidature will get cancelled.
- According to the official notification, your minimum age should be 21 years as of 01 January 2023. The upper age limit to apply for the exam is 35 years.
- However, age relaxation is given to certain categories as per the Government norm.

MP Judiciary Selection Process
The MP Judiciary Selection Process is carried out in the following process:
Prelims Exam:Â The MP Judiciary Prelims Exam is the main phase of the MP Judiciary recruitment where the candidates will be shortlisted based on their performance in the online test. There are 150 multiple choice questions in the prelims exam which is of 150 marks. Candidates who score above the cut off marks can appear for the mains exam.
Mains Exam:Â This is the second phase of the MP Judiciary Selection process. The mains exam is a descriptive method of testing candidates. It consists of 4 papers which will be of a total of 400 marks, 100 marks each. The candidates who secure the cut-off marks in this section will be eligible for the Interview process.
Interview: In the interview round, the candidate’s general knowledge, standards of law, and appropriateness will be evaluated. The interviewer will ask a series of questions to the candidates. The interview round will be held for a maximum of 50 marks. For selection it is mandatory for the candidate to score minimum 40% marks I.e. 20 marks.
Only the marks obtained in the mains exam and interview round will be considered for final selection.

Interview
- The interview round will be the last round of the MP Judiciary Exam selection process.
- The interview will be conducted for 50 marks and minimum 20 marks is required to clear interview irrespective of categories.
- Only those candidates who get qualifying marks in the mains exam and the interview will be arriving at the final rankings.
